FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Jessie Mae Robinson, 76, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Ms. Robinson was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Ferriday, the daughter of Jessie Emanuel and Rosie Lee Lewis-Lewis. She was a retired nurse’s aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alonzo Lewis.

Survivors include, one son, Carlton “Buck” Robinson and wife, Deann; two daughters, Linda Lorrain “Sue” Edwards, and husband, L.J., of Ferriday, Brenda Robinson of New Orleans; three children she raised as her own, LaHope Johnson, and husband, Samuel, Larry Edwards, and wife, Jessica, of Ferriday, Travis Robinson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two aunts, Eloise Hawkins, of Natchez, Abelene Hinton, of Lansing, Mich.; one brother, Larnel Lewis; one sister, Doris Ann Lewis, of Ferriday; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
