LORMAN — The Lorman campus of Alcorn State University was evacuated Tuesday morning following the investigation of a suspicious package and a bomb threat.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Clinton Police Department Bomb Squad investigated a suspicious package at the James L. Bolden Campus Union building and conducted a comprehensive sweep of the building.
As police were investigating the package, university officials received a bomb threat via telephone, according to university press release.
Police officials later deemed the building safe to reopen.
Police cleared the campus of any likely imminent threat, but did cancel class for the remainder of Tuesday.
