NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Charles Nolan Wilson, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daylon Hicks and the Rev. George Bové officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilson was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Franklin County, the son of John Jim Wilson and Ella Edna Newman Wilson. He was a long-time active member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and will be missed by his many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Vera, Ansel, James, Edna and George.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Frances Wilson; three sons, Charles Thomas Wilson and wife, Stephanie, of McCall Creek, Dwight Wilson and wife, Patti, of North Richard Hills, Texas, and Purvis Wilson and wife Shannon, of Natchez; one brother, John Wilson of California; eight grandchildren, Deren Cooke, Jeremy Wilson, Jessica Brzozowski, Tara Vincent, Jonathan Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Jessie Carroll Wilson and Katie Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Jaden Cooke, Theory Wilson, Isaiah Brzozowski and Ireland Brzozowski, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steven Wilson, Jimmy Butler Jr., Justin Vincent, Jeremy Wilson, Gary McIntosh and Robert Atwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Wilson and Jacob Wilson.
