GLOSTER— Funeral services for Mary Louise Hazlip Ashley, 85, of Crosby, who died on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at her residence, will be today at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernard Waites officiating.

Burial will follow in Ashley Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ashley was born on Aug. 16, 1928, in Perrytown, the daughter of John R. “Jack” and Bertie Sturdivant Hazlip.

She was a member of Perrytown Church of Christ.

Ashley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kennon Ashley, three brothers, Jake Hazlip, John “Duggar” Hazlip and Tommy Hazlip; and two sisters, Irene Cavin and Molly Johnson.

Survivors include son, Harold Ashley of Crosby; daughter, Mary Ashley Johnson and husband, Pete, of Crosby; four grandchildren, Shannon Ashley of Crosby, Casey Arnold and fiancée, Brian Baxter, of Jacksonville, Ala., Ashley Johnson and Thomas Johnson, both of Crosby; three great-grandchildren, Josh Arnold, Kayla Arnold and Logan Arnold, all of Jacksonville, Ala., two sisters, Dot Carter and husband, A.D. of Baton Rouge, and Corrine Stephens and husband, Donnie of Ephrata, Wash.; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Dave Carter, Charles Cavin, Randy Curtis, Wayne Johnson, Kerry Murray, Mike Perry, Dan Perry and Alton Boone.

Honorary pallbearers will be A.D. Carter, Donnie Stephens, Rob Murray, Pete Johnson, Wesley Stephens, Bobby Johnson and the men of Perrytown Church of Christ.
