Garden clubs announce 2014 kings, queens

NATCHEZ — The Natchez and Pilgrimage garden clubs recently announced their royalty for the 2014 Spring Pilgrimage season.
Each pair will reign over the Historic Natchez Tableaux for approximately two weeks beginning in March.
Natchez Garden Club Queen Madison Rose Chandler
Madison Rose Chandler, is the daughter of John and Kristie Byrne Chandler.
She is the granddaughter of Loveta Byrne and Tony Byrne of Natchez, Peggy Chandler of Columbus, and the late Winston Chandler of Columbus.
Madison attended Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia Hills, Ala., and graduated in 2010. She will graduate in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Berry College in Rome, Ga. She also studied abroad at the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland as a Principia Consortium in the spring of 2012.
At Berry, Madison has been a presidential ambassador and the president of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society. She has been a member of Emerging Leaders, Lambda Sigma, American Chemical Society, Berry College Vikettes Dance Team and Berry College Dance Troupe. She has worked as a freshman mentor, teacher’s assistant, research assistant and is the head program coordinator for A New Year, A New You.
Madison enjoys reading, cooking and running.
Madison’s past pageant participation includes The Showboat and Jefferson Davis’ Wedding. She also received at Elms Court.
Natchez Garden Club King Rudolf Krueger Lazarus
Rudolf Krueger Lazarus is the son of Mike and Kim Krueger Lazarus. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Krueger and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lazarus all of Natchez.
Rudy attended Cathedral High School in Natchez and graduated in 2011.
He is a junior at Mississippi State University in Starkville, majoring in building construction science with a minor in business administration.
At Cathedral Rudy was a three-year letterman in football and a three-year letterman in baseball. His senior year he was selected on the First Team All-District and named Most Valuable Offensive Player in baseball.
At MSU Rudy is a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He plays intramural softball and football.
Rudy enjoys college football and baseball, working out and spending time with family and friends.
Rudy’s previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Page, Big Maypole, Indian in Raising of the Flag, Soiree’ and American Flag Bearer in the Court.
Pilgrimage Garden Club Queen Lara Nichole Biglane
Lara Nichole Biglane is the daughter of Mr. Denton Biglane and Ms. Tanya Biglane of Natchez, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Biglane of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Swindle of Zachary, La.
Lara is a 2012 graduate of Cathedral High School. She is currently attending Louisiana State where she is majoring in business and child psychology. She is a member of the Tri Delta sorority where she served as philanthropic chairman for Rush 2013 and is a member of Phi Sigma Theta honor society.
Lara recently traveled to Africa with the Global Leadership program to work in different townships with children.
She enjoys snow skiing, traveling and volunteering her time with underprivileged children.
Her previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, Picnic, Virginia Reel dancer, Can Can Dancer, Bridesmaid in the Wedding Tableau, Soiree Dancer for five years and Sweetheart Lead for two years.
Pilgrimage Garden Club King Josh Baker Callaway III
Josh Baker Callaway III is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Callaway and is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Callaway of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Vic Vegas of Ferriday.
Josh is a 2012 graduate of Cathedral High School.
He is currently attending Louisiana State University, where he has been accepted into the School of Engineering and he is majoring in petroleum engineering.
He is an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, and at LSU he is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Josh enjoys hunting all types of game in his leisure time and loves supporting the LSU Tigers at all their athletic events.
His previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, wheel roller in the Showboat tableau, the Picnic, Polka and the Soiree.
