PASADENA, CALIF. — Services for Abel McDaniel, 95, of Pasadena, who died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, 855 N. Orange Grove Blvd.

Mr. McDaniel was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Roxie, the son of Sam and Ideana McDaniel.

He enlisted in the Army in Aug. 1942. He was discharged in Santa Ana, in January 1946.

He later married Mary McLouise. He was loved by many.

Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; six sisters; and seven brothers.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Chatman; best friends, Helen Ellis and husband, Harold, Bill Halloway and wife, Nettie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
