NATCHEZ — Services for Mavis Furr, 98, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Promise Rehabilitation Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Furr was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Franklin County, the daughter of Hardy Smith and Willie Ann Kennedy Smith.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe M. Furr; step-son, Laddie Joe Furr; two brothers, Charlie Smith and Clem B. Smith; and three sisters, Nellie Smith, Sally Walker and Alice Bowlin.
Survivors include on step-son, James Steve Furr, of Livermore, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tom Smith, Robert Verucchi, Keith Smith, Wayne Holmes, Lynwood Easterling and Bill Deer.
