NATCHEZ — Services for Adolph Shaw, 58, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a Celebration of Life wake service from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Shaw was born Aug. 3, 1955, in Natchez, the son of Willie Lee Shaw Sr. and Cornella Washington Shaw.
He was a baptist. He was a 1975 graduate of North Natchez High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He was self employed and the No. 1 fan of Barry White, The Velvet Teddy Bear.
Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Andrew Tyrone Shaw; one sister, Dorothy Brown; one grandmother, Queen Ellery Washington; and one great-aunt, Amelia Shaw Bernard.
Survivors include his wife, Torrie Hinson Shaw; three sons, Marcus Vantrell Shaw, Chance Vandowan Shaw and Brodrick Allen; three grandsons, Kalmon Marcus Shaw, Cayden Vantrell Bussell and Neiman Marcus Shaw; three brothers, Willie Lee Shaw Jr. and wife, Linda, of Ferriday, Isaac “Ike” Shaw and wife, Vonnie, of Missouri City, Texas, and Carlos Shaw and wife, Brenda, of Natchez; two sisters, Juanita Odeom and Maxine Shaw and husband, Melvin, all of Natchez; a god brother, John Moss of Jackson; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe Earl Williams, Tommy Lee Fleming, E. J. Conner, Stanton Anderson, Larry Hunter, J. C. Allen, Anthony Jackson and Richard Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Willis Shaw, Isaac Shaw, Carlos Shaw, Marcus Shaw, Brodrick Allen, Trey Hinson, Melvin Shaw and Tyler Blalock.
