NATCHEZ — Services for Thelma Gooseberry Ransom, 81, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral of Natchez.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Ransom was born April 8, 1932, in Adams County, the daughter of Richard and Mary Ruth Hart Gooseberry.

Mrs. Ransom was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Ordley Ransom; two sons, Claude Ransom and Dave Ransom; four daughters, Thelma Ford, Corine and Aurine White, and Lillian Page; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Washington and Katie Thomas, one step-daughter, Jessie Graves; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
