NATCHEZ — The Tensas Parish inmate who escaped a prison transport in Ferriday Thursday night has been captured.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy David Hedrick said the Vidalia Police Department and the CPSO arrested Melvin Videau at the Vidalia Walmart without incident this morning.

Videau reportedly escaped prison guards while they were refueling their vehicle at Delta Fuels in Ferriday. He was being transported from Tensas Parish to Avoyelles Parish.
