NATCHEZ — Freddy Bailey, Louisiana Adult League Coordinator, recently met with Duncan Park Director Henry Harris and Nancy McLemore, LaMiss Director, to bring good news. Adams County residents will be considered locals for tennis leagues in Louisiana.
Many states have regulations for out-of-state players requiring at least 51 to 80 percent of the team be residents of the state in which they play.
However, because of the close proximity of communities in the Miss-Lou, Louisiana Tennis Association has made an exception.
All players residing in Adams County will be able to play in Louisiana leagues and Mississippi leagues.
Also attending the meeting were Susie Ater, Lou Ellen Stout, Pat Dickens and Lynette Tanner.
They discussed regulations, league fees, state tournament dates and deadlines for registration of teams.
Anyone wishing to captain a team or play on a team should contact Henry Harris at the Duncan Park tennis center or Nancy McLemore for information.
