KINGSTON — Services for Winston Monroe Jenkins, 70, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at University Hospital in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Kingston, with the Rev. Russell Wagoner and the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating.

Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Jenkins was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Albany, La., the son of Ory Jenkins and Johnnie Jenkins Cranford.

He was a millwright for many years. He enjoyed riding his trike, hunting, spending time with family and watching television. His greatest joy was helping others.

He was a member and deacon of Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Kingston. He enjoyed singing in the choir.

Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ory John “Rock” Jenkins and Clyde Cranford; one sister, Nancy Jenkins Smith; in-laws, Pete and Agnes Brasher; brothers-in-law, Roger Kelly and Manson Nelson; and sister-in-law and husband, Ada and Sonny Finn.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kay Brasher Jenkins; one brother, Bill Cranford, of Hattiesburg; one brother-in-law, James Brasher and wife, Barbara, of Ferriday; one sister-in-law, Jerri Kelly, of Tupelo; nephews, Manson Nelson Jr., of Ferriday, Chip Kelly, of St. Louis, Trey Brasher and wife, Eva, of Ferriday; nieces, Terry Lynn Burke and husband, Richard, Traci Swilley and husband, Bo, all of Natchez, Debbie Guillory and husband, Tony, of Ferriday, Rhonda Squires and husband, Micheal, of Jonesville, Dawn Williams, of Gonzales and Evette Lange, of Gravette Ark.; and a number of great and great-great nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Robert Day Jr., Chip Kelly, Seth Swilley, Brent Swilley, Kelly Lange, Manson Nelson Jr., Jeremy Smith and Jonathan Halley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Upton, Lee Gillespie, Donnie McIlwain, J. C. Price, George Tarver, Doug McIlwain and Glenn Switzer.

Memorial may be made of personal choice.
