NATCHEZ — Shellie Rushing Tomlinson will introduce her new book to fellow Natchezians while visiting Turning Pages Books & More from 1 to 3 p.m. today.
WarterBrook Multnomah Press released the book, “Heart Wide Open: Trading Mundane Faith for an Exuberant Life with Jesus,” Tuesday.
Tomlinson is a Natchez native, who lives in Louisiana.
She is the author of two award-winning nonfiction humor titles “Suck Your Stomach in and Put some Color On” and “Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy!”
Tomlinson is the host of the radio program “All Things Southern.”
As a Bible-believing churchgoer, Tomlinson harbored a secret in her heart. She said she longed for more than routine faith; she wanted God with a genuine, all-consuming passion. So she got honest with Him: “I admit it. I don’t love you like I should, but I want to love you. Help me.”
In “Heart Open Wide,” Tomlinson invites readers to answer the call of the restless heart and refuse to settle for anything less than the intimate friendship with God.
Tomlinson will also sign copies of her two nonfiction humor books at Turning Pages. For more information, call 601-442-2299.
