FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man was arrested in connection with a Friday stabbing incident that sent one man to the hospital in need of surgery.
Kadarrian A. Frazier, 32, 806 Alabama Ave., was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery.
Ferriday Interim Police Chief Derrick Freeman said the arrest followed an altercation on the corners of Alabama and Eighth streets, where several men were fighting.
During the fight, Frazier allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the victim, Aldre Wilkins, twice in the upper left chest.
Wilkins was transported to Riverland Medical Center, and required an immediate surgery, Freeman said.
The victim’s condition was not known Sunday afternoon.
The police are still investigating the matter, which Freeman said he believes is gang related.
Two other men, Karl Hall Jr., 18, 510 Love St., and Christopher Wilson, 22, 820 Myrtle Ave., were also arrested in connection with the incident and charged with disturbing the peace by fighting.
Wilkins was detained without bond.
Hall and Wilson were detained on a $636 bond.
