PORT GIBSON — Services for Mable Shelton Brown, 89, of Blue Hill, who died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Gammel officiating.

Burial will follow in Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 28, 1924, the daughter of Luther Lewis Shelton and Vera Thompson Shelton.

She was a member of Red Lick Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Wilton Brown; and her parents.

Survivors include her two sons, Burnie W. Brown and wife, Jean, of Lorman and Johnnie R. “Ray” Brown and wife, Nan, of Saltillo; one daughter, Sue Spann and husband, Philip, of Ridgeland; one brother, Thomas Shelton, of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Janie Cole of Blue Hill and Lillie Johnson of Fayette; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Brown, Brian Brown, Jamie Spann, Tim Spann, Nick Spann and Chris Taft.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Starnes, Jimmy Cole, Kerry Brown, Virgil Scott, James Ray Burnett, Mary Roberts and Mike Piazza.
