NATCHEZ — A Natchez man is on life support after being shot at least two times at a club on the corner of Steam Plant and Green Acres roads early this morning.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said Peter Jones III, 31, was shot at least twice, possibly three times, at approximately 5 a.m. at the club formerly known as Chuck’s Corner. Mayfield said he does not know the current name of the club.

Jones has wounds in the left area of his upper chest, left hip and right arm. Jones was airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson and is on a ventilator, Mayfield said.

Marvin Antony Watson, 49, 230 Country Club Drive, turned himself into authorities at approximately 11 a.m. and was charged with attempted murder.

Mayfield said his office has not determined a motive.

“Nobody really saw any kind of altercation happen prior to the shooting,” he said.

Witnesses reported at least four shots were fired.
