NATCHEZ — Services for Josephine Fleming, 83, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Fenwick under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Friday with a “Celebration of Life” wake service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Fleming was born Oct. 14, 1930, the daughter of Howard Fleming and Mary “Jaint” Mock Fleming.
She was a member of the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where she served as an usher.
She was a fun, loving, caring and God-fearing woman who greeted you with a smile.
Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Authur Lee Fleming; one daughter, Josie Fleming Ransom; two brothers, Howard Fleming Jr. and Norman Fleming; one sister, Delzina Fleming; one grandson, Keywayne Brannan; and great-granddaughter, Shakeyra Brannan.
Survivors include her beloved children, Donald Fleming and wife, Rosetta, Sylvester Fleming, Nora Brannan, Bobbie Hinson, Dennis Hawkins, Rebecca Fleming, all of Natchez, Melvin Fleming and wife, Delores, of Atlanta; Shirley White and husband, Kenneth, of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Mary Foster of Baton Rouge; brothers, Idorsey Fleming and wife, Priscilla, Leroy Fleming and wife, Mary, and Otis Fleming, all of Natchez, Morris Mock and wife, Shirley, of Jackson, and Frank Mock of Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters, Eva Calvin, Geneva Jackson, and Evelyn “Annie” Pickett, all of Natchez, Bertha King of Vidalia and Camille Jackson of Houston; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
