JONESVILLE — Services for Jeanmarie Sylvester DeVillier, 57, of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Jonesville, who died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in Baytown, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Burial will follow in Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown.

Mrs. DeVillier was born May 14, 1957, in Baton Rouge, the daughter of EJ Sylvester and Kathleen McMillan Sylvester.

She graduated from Block High School, attended Louisiana State University and went on to receive a bachelor of art degree at Northwestern State University in 1983 and a master of education at McNeese State University in 1991.

She was married to Robert DeVillier Dec. 8, 1989.

She took pride and put great effort into teaching special education in Calcasieu Parish School District in Louisiana, La Porte Independent School District (ISD), Barbers Hill ISD and Baytown ISD in Texas. She was recognized by Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2002, 2004-05 and 2005-06.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially when crawfish were involved.

Survivors include her loving husband; two step-sons, Nick DeVillier of Kingwood, Texas, and Will DeVillier of Lake Charles; one step-daughter, Krystal DeVillier of Moss Bluff; and three beautiful grandchildren, Alyssa Michell DeVillier, Mason Cade DeVillier and Maddison Claire DeVillier.
