Cynthia Marie Strickland and Charles Edward Strickland of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Charlieston E. Strickland to Marcus Lee Smith, son of Alfred Lee and Mona Smith of Natchez.

The bride-to-be received her education at Natchez High School and later attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Virginia Reynolds Green of Natchez and the late Dwight Lamar Green of Natchez.

The groom-to-be received his education at Natchez High School and later attended Alcorn State University in Lorman.

He is the grandson of the late Albert and Sarah Hughes of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014, on the Natchez bluff at the gazebo overlooking the river.

A reception will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory.
