NATCHEZ — Two all-terrain vehicles stolen from Adams County in May have been recovered in Louisiana and returned to their owners.

One of the four-wheelers was stolen from under a carport on Morgantown Road, while the second was stolen from a North Palestine Road residence, where it had been secured with chains, according to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

The Palestine Road four-wheeler was stolen after thieves cut the chains.

The two vehicles were found in Ouachita Parish, La., when Ouachita Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic call at a residence there and noticed the ignition of one of the vehicles had been punched out, leading them to suspect they had been stolen.

After the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the ACSO about the vehicles, they were returned to their rightful owners

One of the owners of the ATVs had security cameras in place, but the video did not reveal enough detail about the thieves.

The OPSO has issued a warrant for a suspect, who reportedly fled the scene in Ouachita Parish, in relation to the theft.

“This is a good example of regional team work with our office and our colleagues in Louisiana,” Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said. “We are grateful for the sharp observations made by the Ouachita Parish deputies and for their quick response.”
