VIDALIA — Memorial services for Donald R. “Don” Finley, 49, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Joe Xaiver and the Rev. Paul Kunnumpuram officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Finley was born Aug. 21, 1964, in Natchez, the son of Ernest Roy Finley and Lenora Bell Welch Finley.

He was a loving husband and a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend.

He was a graduate of South Natchez High School.

He was employed by Percy’s Radiator Shop in Natchez for 10 years. He was a dedicated employee for 17 years with the City of Vidalia as a water plant operator. He also served as an auxiliary police officer with the Vidalia Police Department for six years.

He was willing to serve the children of the community as traffic monitor for the First Baptist Church of Vidalia youth department on Wednesday nights.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

He was an avid Ole Miss and New Orleans Saints fan.

Mr. Finley was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Lenora Finley Bowman; his stepfather, Bill Bowman; one brother, Wayne Finley; and his father-in-law, Skip Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Martin Finley; one step daughter, Ashley Dyer; one brother, Ronnie Finley and wife, Barbara, of Youngsville; three sisters, Kathy F. Smith and husband, George, of Richland, Ernie F. Latham and husband, Tome, of Natchez, and Lisa Coley and husband, Kevin, of Vidalia; mother-in-law, Wunky Martin; four brothers-in-law, Robert R. Martin and wife, Mary, of Monroe, Johnny Martin, Freddie Martin, and Joey Martin and wife, Kathy, all of Vidalia; one sister-in-law, Bridgid Martin of Vidalia; and a number of nephews and nieces; and his very special City of Vidalia work family.

Memorial may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Fund.
