MEADVILLE — Services for Joseph E. “Joe” Ross, 81, who died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital after a short illness, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Franklin Funeral Home of Meadville with the Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating.

Burial will follow at the Roxie Cemetery under the direction of the Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ross was born Dec. 26, 1932, at the Ross homestead in Roxie, to William A. Ross and Juanita Rice Ross.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, he returned to the homestead in Roxie where he met his wife, Mafalda (Bobbie) Carazza Ross.

Joe retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after more than 30 years of service.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two brothers, James I. Ross and Lawrence Ross.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Mullins and husband, Marty, of Natchez, Darlene McGill and husband, Mike, of Blue Eye, Mo., and Nita Nosser and husband, Paul, of Bryant, Ark.; five sisters, Eva Ross of Roxie, Marie Wellman of Dayton, Ohio, Billie Arneson and husband, Duwayne, of Tucson, Ariz., Rubie Ross of Marvern, Ark., and Ruth Ross of Accokee, Md.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be members of the Wildwood Hunting Club.

The family wishes to thank Mr. Billy and Mrs. Jean Havard for all they have done for our daddy.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Roxie Baptist Church, St. Jude Research Hospital or to a charity of choice.
