GLENMORA, La. — Graveside services for Charles Dana Hollingsworth, 85, of Glenmora, La., who died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, will be at noon today at Glenmora Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Strickland and the Rev. Charles Seal officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Rush Funeral Home in Oakdale, La.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at Glenmora First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hollingsworth was a 1950 graduate of Oklahoma University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering and went to work for Texas Pacific Coal & Oil Company. He was transferred to Glenmora where he met his wife. He later moved to Natchez with his family and went to work for Hughes & New Oil Company.

In the early 1970s, he and his partners started Triangle Oil Producers. He retired in 1989.

Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of AIME (American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers), a member of PET at OU (honorary Petroleum Engineering Society), past president of the Natchez Historical Society, past board member of the Historic Natchez Foundation, a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years and the Mississippi Shriners Club.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lillian Seal Hollingsworth and his parents, Charles Dalton and Margaret Bryan Hollingsworth.

Survivors include two daughters, Terry Hollingsworth of Glenmora and LilAnn Pace and husband, Dave, of Brookhaven; one son, Guy Hollingsworth and wife, Susan, of Houston; four grandsons, Cole Brown of Natchez, Chase Brown and wife, Hope, of Tyler, Texas, Alexander Hollingsworth and wife, Brandi, and Stephen Hollingsworth and wife, Alison, all of Houston; and two nieces, Connie Seal and Susan Otte.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glenmora United Methodist Church, the Glenmora Cemetery Association or Trinity Episcopal School in Natchez.
