NATCHEZ — A Fayette man was killed Thursday evening after he was struck by heavy machinery while clearing land of stumps on Airport Road.

Charles Johnson of Fayette died at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday from blunt force trauma while working at 253 Airport Road, Adams County Coroner James Lee said.

Lee said Johnson did not have any identification on him to determine an age or address.

A spokesperson for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said further details of the incident could not be released as of Friday afternoon.
