NATCHEZ — Despite nearby thunderstorms that bypassed the eastern part of Natchez afternoon earlier in the afternoon on Tuesday, Wilkinson County Christian Academy and Adams County Christian School still attempted to play their varsity fast-pitch softball game.

But with the rain still falling in the late afternoon and into the early evening, and with lightning in the area, the game was finally called with the Lady Rebels leading the Lady Rams 1-0 with a runner on third base and one out.

However, with this being a non-district game, it will not be rescheduled. WCCA doesn’t play again until next Monday when it hosts MAIS District 7-A rival Franklin Academy at 5 p.m.
