NATCHEZ — Jordan Parker was able to convert from the penalty spot late in the game for Adams County Christian School, but it was not enough to overcome a large deficit as the Lady Rebels fell to Laurel Christian 8-1.

With the loss, ACCS falls to 4-5 on the year while Laurel Christian improves to 7-2.

“I’ve got to give kudos to a multi-state champion Lady Lions soccer team from Laurel Christian,” ACCS head coach Jimmy Allgood said. “We went over there a couple of Saturday’s ago, and they dumped it on us 11-0, but our girls really stepped it up. I’m very proud of them.”

ACCS had multiple chances on goal early in the game, but weren’t able to convert. Laurel Christian, however, was able to find the back of the net multiple times.

“The first 20 minutes we took five shots on goal,” Allgood said. “The last time we played them, we didn’t take five shots in maybe the whole game.”

Marcie Napier started the scoring for Laurel Christian with an early goal in the first half, the first of her three of the afternoon. Ivy Deloach followed that up with a goal of her own to up the lead to 2-0.

Darby Fisher then put two in the back of the net to give the Lady Lions a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

Early in the second half, Napier found the back of the net again giving Laurel Christian a 5-0 lead. Napier would follow that up shortly after with her third goal of the contest.

Fisher completed her hattrick with a bullet free kick midway through the second half and pushed the lead to 7-0 and Rachel Tibbs capped the scoring for the Lady Lions with a late goal.

Parker found the back of the net with just a few minutes remaining in the contest for ACCS.

Next up for ACCS is Washington School at 10 a.m. Saturday.
