WATERPROOF, La. — Services for Roy James, 62, of Waterproof, who died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Waterproof.
Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Mr. James was born March 26, 1952, in Natchez, the son of Roy James and Ruth James.
He graduated from Waterproof High School where he was valedictorian. He was also a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a member of St.Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Waterproof.
Mr. James was a cooking enthusiast, who loved sharing his passion with family and friends. He loved history, LSU football and all football. Above all, he loved people, and it was his friends and family who brought the most happiness to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one brother, Danny James; two sons, Ashton James and wife, Elizabeth, and Connor James and wife, Kristen; two daughters, Kelly James and Caroline James; three grandchildren, Bennett James, Eleanor James and Adeline James; one nephew, Danny James Jr.; and three nieces, Amanda James, Mitsy Murphy and Mary Elizabeth Martin.
Pallbearers will be Joe James, Orrin James, Jay James, Frank Huff, Bobby James, Phillip James, Mac Bullock and Richard Leet.
