Applications can be picked up at the Concordia Parish School Board’s main office on U.S. 84. or the magnet school, which is located at the old Ridgecrest School site at 200 Robert Webber Drive in Ridgecrest.

Parents may also access the forms from the CPSB website, cpsbla.us.

The magnet school opened in 2012 to kindergarten through fifth-grade students and has expanded one grade each year.

During the 2015-16 school year, the magnet school will house kindergarten to eighth-grade students.

Students from all Concordia Parish school zones may apply for entrance.

After applications have been received, placement will be determined through a lottery system.

There are no requirements to enter the magnet program, but there are strict guidelines to remain in the program.

Students are required to maintain a 2.5 grade point average, attend school daily and have a clean discipline record.

Parental involvement and participation are also factors that go into students remaining at the school.

All students must reside in Concordia Parish.

Applications can be turned in at the CPSB office or mailed to P.O. Box 950, Vidalia, La., 71373.
