April Renee Taylor and Dr. Jason William Blowe, both of Lawrenceville, Ga., were united in holy matrimony Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Young’s Chapel in Douglas, Ga.

Parents of the bride are the Rev. James Dexter Taylor and Mrs. Renee Taylor of Douglas.

Grandparents are Mr. Sam Taylor Sr. and the late Mrs. Louise Taylor and Mrs. Helen Moss and the late Mr. John A. Moss Sr.

The groom sang, “We’re Just Getting Started,” as the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.

Henry Woods II was best man. Charles Green and Trey Ware served as groomsmen in a wedding party of 18, all formerly of Natchez.

A cocktail hour, seated dinner and reception activities followed the ceremony.

Following a trip to Turtle Island, Fiji, the couple will live in Lawrenceville.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Coffee High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in health science with a focus on community health at Georgia Southern University and her master’s of health services administration from Strayer University.

April works at her dream job as a public health analyst at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Throughout her career, she has received a number of awards and honors and was selected to be a part of a response team in Ohio.

She is a member of Berean Christian Church and serves faithfully on the medical ministry. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Jason is the son of Mr. William Blowe and Mrs. Polly J. Blowe. Grandparents are the late Mr. William Blowe and Mrs. Cleotha Blowe and the late Mr. Jesse James and Mrs. Ralphine James.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Natchez High School. He attended Alcorn State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi. Jason earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry, where he was also recognized with a number of honors.

Jason is the founder and owner of Now Eye See Family Eye Care in Lawrenceville. As an active member of the optometric community, he is the president of the Georgia Chapter of the National Optometric Association and a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

Jason is an active member of Berean Christian Church where he serves on the medical, music and business ministries. Jason is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
