Stan’s Outlook: Any chance of snow next week?

Well it looks like love will be in the air for this Valentines weekend.
The theme for the Krewe of Phoenix’s parade is “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” They will roll at 5 p.m. Friday night under mostly sunny skies and temperatures dropping to near 40 overnight. Bundle up!
The City of Vidalia’s “Love is Universal” Mardi Gras parade will start at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon on just a perfect day to be outside. Parade time should see sunny skies and temps in the mid 60’s.
Well enjoy this beautiful Valentine’s weekend because coming Sunday night through Tuesday we will see our chance of rain increase as we enter the work week seeing a 70% of some much needed rain for Monday and Tuesday. We also can’t rule out a thunderstorm or two in the mix.
There are rumors floating around of snow early next week getting everyone all excited and there is a small chance our area may see some overnight Tuesday but the majority of this weather will remain north of Interstate 20. Please stay alert to road conditions as we will see freezing temperatures Tuesday that that may cause hazardous icy road conditions.
Important footnote: Be advised that both Adams and Franklin counties are currently under a burn ban until the end of February. Our local fire departments responded to about a half dozen wild fires last weekend that had gotten out of control. You can be ticketed and are responsible for any damages you cause. Of course you can use your grill, (most common question when a burn ban is issued) but please be very careful.
Be safe and aware
