Home with Heroes sponsors honor ride

NATCHEZ — The Home With Heroes Foundation Inc. of the Miss-Lou once again is sponsoring the Miss-Lou Honor Ride to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. The ride will honor World War II veterans, and is open to the public.

“This will be an opportunity for travelers to see this fantastic museum and ride with actual World War II veterans,” said G. Mark LaFrancis, president of the foundation. “This will be a memorable trip.”

The Honor Ride will be Saturday, March 14, departing from Natchez at 7 a.m. and returning to Natchez approximately 7 p.m. The trip cost includes a coach ride to and from the museum, refreshments to and from, a gift bag, entrance to all the museum exhibits, and entrance to the outstanding “Beyond All Boundaries” experience narrated by Tom Hanks. Lunch is not included; there are two restaurants in the museum.

The excursion is free for World War II veteran. Each World War II veteran must have an able-bodied escort. Escort cost is $100 per person. Cost to the general public is $115 per person. Deadline to sign up is Friday, March 6.

“This museum is one of the most outstanding in America, and covers all facets of World War II. It is both educational and enlightening,” LaFrancis said.
