NEW ERA, La. — Services for Wallace J. Little, 81, who died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Era Baptist Church in New Era, La., with the Rev. Huey Tarpley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Little was born Oct. 1, 1933, in Midland, Mich., the son of Theodore A. and Sarah Noyes Little.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in agriculture. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Rucker, Ala., during which time he met his wife, Hazel, of 55 years.
Wally was an accomplished brick and stone mason. Construction was his legacy he passed on to his sons.
He loved God and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Alison H. Little; and one sister, Hazel L. Albrecht.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Hazel Morace Little; two daughters, Lisa Little Chandler and husband, Steven, of Acme, La., and Nancy L. Peters and husband, Ryan, of Denham Springs, La.; two sons, Ted Little and wife, Christy, of Amory and Jimmy Little and wife, Misty, of Monterey; and 10 grandchildren, Giovanna Little, Gina and Auston Chandler, Karina, Alex and Hunter Smith, Hobie and Candace Little, Logan Little and Austin Pearson.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Drake, Corey Brewer, Auston Chandler, Alex Smith, Hunter Smith and Hobie Little.
Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Little, Ryan Peters, Steven Chandler and Austin Pearson.
