Natchez Garden Club announces tableaux court

NATCHEZ — The Natchez Garden Club has announced its 2015 royal court for the Historic Natchez Tableaux.

The court will serve the garden club’s king and queen during their reign in the upcoming Spring Pilgrimage, March 7-April 7.

Maids

Elizabeth Lea Fortenbery

Beth Fortenbery is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Fortenbery. She is granddaughter of Mrs. Lanius Fortenbery and the late Mr. Wade Fortenbery of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Chapman of McComb.

Beth is a 2012 graduate of Cathedral High School. She is also a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson and is currently enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg majoring in education.

Beth is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta and Who’s Who. She enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Her past pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Page, Big Maypole, Picnic, Placard Bearer, Raising of the Flag and Polka.

Ginny Calhoun Daggett

Ginny Daggett is the daughter of Rod and Penny Daggett. She is the granddaughter of J.W. and Bobbie Calhoun of Monterey and the late Dick and Eula Routh Daggett of Jonesville.

Ginny is a 2012 graduate of Cathedral High School. She currently attends Louisiana State University-Eunice, where she is majoring in diagnostic medical sonography.

Ginny is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the LSUE Lady Bengal’s softball team, which won the NJCAA-Division II National Championship in 2014.

Ginny enjoys exercising, hunting and photography.

Her past pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Page to King Ryan McKinney and Queen Paige Carlton Carter, Big Maypole, Picnic, Showboat, Polka, The Wedding, Polka Favor Girl and the Court during her sister, Betsy Daggett’s reign.

Sarah Grace Jordan

Sarah Grace Jordan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Chandler Jordan III. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. B.C. Jordan Jr. and the late B.C. Jordan Jr. of Natchez and Mrs. H.E. Chauvin Jr. and the late Mr. A.E. “Bubba” Chauvin Jr. of Natchez.

Sarah Grace is a 2012 graduate of Cathedral High School. She attended Mississippi State University for two years and presently attends Louisiana State University majoring in speech pathology with a minor in special education.

Sarah Grace is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and teaches swimming lessons.

She enjoys art, hiking, music, spending time with her special needs sister and volunteering with special needs individuals.

Her past pageant participation includes Polka, Soiree, Picnic, Indian and The Wedding.

Shelby Alexandra Stokes

Shelby Stokes is the daughter of Brenda Stokes and Chad Gauthreaux. She is the granddaughter of James and Sandra Stokes of Natchez, Luann Hill of Morristown, Tenn., and Bob Stokes of Pineville, La.

Shelby is a 2013 graduate of Lutheran High School. She attends Crescent City Career Institute where she is learning to be an EKG technician.

Shelby is an assistant dance teacher at Dana’s Dance Company. She enjoys theatre and reading.

Her past pageant participation includes The Wedding Flower Girl and Bride, Showboat, Picnic and Raising of the Flag. She has been a participant every year since 1994.

Kathryn Margaret Steele

Katie Steele is the daughter of Ken and Pam Steele. She is the granddaughter of Beatrice Steele and the late Wayne Steele of Natchez and the late Glenn and Vivian Henry of Natchez.

Katie is a 2012 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School where she was salutatorian.

Katie is a junior at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she is majoring in radiologic technology.

She is a member of Chi Beta Gamma, Sigma Alpha Pi Leadership Society, Baptist Campus Ministry and is junior class representative for radiology technology.

Katie enjoys watching movies, listening to music, watching sports and being with friends.

Her past pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Big Maypole, Flower Girl in The Wedding,

Picnic, Showboat, Placard Bearer, Polka and 2014 Court.

Abbey Claire Ashmore

Abbey Claire Ashmore is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell Ashmore Jr. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jake Schiele of Ferriday, Mrs. Wilton Johnson of Natchez, the late Mr. Wilton Johnson and the late Mr. William Mitchell Ashmore.

Abbey graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in 2012. She attends Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she is majoring in communication studies.

She is a member of the Pre-Dental Society and Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta at LSU.

Abbey enjoys cheering for the LSU Tigers, playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.

 

Generals

Andrew Lee Moroney

Andrew Moroney is the son of Curtis Moroney and Annette Moroney. He is the grandson of Charles Moroney of Natchez and Jack and Gloria Brown of Shawnee, Okla.

Andrew is a 2012 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School. He attends Mississippi State University, where he is majoring in finance. Andrew is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the National Honor Society.

He enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.

His past pageant participation includes Little Maypole, Ring Bearer in The Wedding, Big Maypole and Fisherboy.

Daniel Alan Dunaway

Daniel Dunaway is the son Chris and Amy Dunaway. He is the grandson of Ms. Juanita D. Holyfield of Natchez, the late Mr. Elbert W. Holyfield, Ms. Kathryn S. Dunaway of Clinton, Ms. and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dunaway of Starkville.

Daniel is a 2012 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School. He attends Mississippi State University, where he is majoring in chemical engineering.

Daniel is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He enjoys hunting, fishing, sports and outdoor activities.

Joseph Travis Mcclatchy

Joseph Mcclatchy is the son of Robert and Sherrie McClatchy. He is the grandson of Mrs. Alfred M. Cothern and the late Mr. Alfred M. Cothern of Meadville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee McClatchy Jr. of Ferriday.

Joseph is 2012 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School. He attends the University of Mississippi, where he is majoring in public policy leadership. Joseph has been on the dean’s and chancellor’s lists.

He is a provost scholar, Mississippi Eminent Scholar and has received the Academic Excellence Scholarship. He served on the Freshman Council and is a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

He is the co-director of Athletics for the Associated Student Body and serves on the Student Alumni Council.

Joseph enjoys attending Ole Miss football games, reading and spending time with friends at the lake.

His previous pageant participation includes the Virginia Reel and Polka.

Dylan Scott Sandidge

Dylan Scott Sandidge is the son of Scott Sandidge and Cecelia Wheeler. He is the grandson of Mitchell and Janice Sandidge and Earl and Corrine Cotten.

Dylan is a 2012 graduate of Cathedral High School and attends William Carey University, where he is majoring in history. He also plays soccer at William Carey University.

He enjoys running, playing soccer and drawing.

His past pageant participation includes Soiree, Polka, Indian in Raising of the Flag and Court 2014.

Alan Wilson Tipton

Alan Wilson Tipton is the son of Mark and Roanne Tipton. He is the grandson of Robert Baker Valentine and the late Ann Wilson Valentine and the late Mr. Carl Tipton and Polly Tipton.

Alan is a 2011 graduate of Fontainebleau High School. He attends Louisiana State University, where he is majoring in civil engineering.

Alan is a member of the LSU Freshmen Leadership Council, Engineers without Borders, LSU Club Ultimate Frisbee Team and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Alan enjoys soccer, ultimate frisbee, water sports and backpacking.

His past pageant participation includes the Little Maypole.

Bryan Hudson Laird

Hudson Laird is the son Bruce and Nancy Laird. He is the grandson of Charles and Dorothy Chauvin of Vidalia, the late Junior Levi Laird and Lora Laird of Natchez.

Hudson is a 2011 graduate of Cathedral High School. He attended Baton Rouge Community College, where he majored in music business and attended the Sockit Recording Studio and is certified in audio engineering/music production.

Hudson enjoys recording and producing music, playing guitar, drum and piano, playing music, traveling and outdoor activities.

Halle Grace Janette

Halle Grace Janette is the daughter of Luke and Lynn Janette. She is the granddaughter of John and Eileen Ball of Natchez, Ken and Ann Janette of Natchez and Laura Lynn Byrne of Havannah, Ark.

Halle Grace is in kindergarten at Cathedral School.

She was honored as Cathedral’s homecoming mascot in October 2014. Halle Grace attends Middleton School of Dance and Natchez Gymnastics.

She enjoys reading, playing softball and cheerleading.

Her past pageant participation includes the Little Maypole.

Marcus “Max” Keywood Mason Jr.

Marcus “Max” Keywood Mason Jr. is the son of Hannah and Marcus Mason of Lafayette, La. He is the grandson of Helen and Randy Smith of Natchez, Lynn and Billy Britt of Natchez and Mark Mason of Slidell, La.

Max was born in Shreveport, La., and has lived in Pittsburgh, moved to Denver and now attends kindergarten at Woodvale Elementary School in Lafayette. He is concentrating on learning how to read and looks forward to P.E. and recess.

Max plays soccer for the LYSA Ninjas, enjoys cheering the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Pirates. Max loves receiving at Texada for his grandparents during pilgrimage and hopes to graduate from taking tickets at the door to “telling a room” to tourists this year. Max’s grandmother, Helen Moss Smith, served as page to Punky Ware and Tony Byrne in 1957. His page partner, Halle Grace Janette’s great-grandfather, Dr. Allen Read was in family medical practice with Max’s great-grandfather, Dr. George Moss at that time.

Max’s previous pageant participation includes Little Maypole and Showboat.
