NATCHEZ — Services for Doyle Jordan, 83, of Natchez, who died peacefully Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cliff Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. David McGuffee and the Rev. John Bowlin officiating.2:26 DoyleJordan obitpic

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Friday, both at the church.

Mr. Jordan was born March 9, 1931, in Bogalusa, La., the son of Wiley Ezekial Jordan and Susie Smith Jordan.

He served in the U.S. Army for four years, stationed in Germany before moving to Natchez. He was employed by International Paper Company for 39 years, retiring in 1993.

His greatest joy was his family whom he loved dearly. He loved God and spreading His word to anyone who would listen.

He was a charter member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher in his earlier years. He was known as “Uncle Doyle” to his many friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Autis and Oliver Jordan; and two sisters, Ocie McBeth and Opal Jordan.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Christine Huff Jordan; one daughter, Lisa Bradley and husband, Charlie; one son, Jamie Jordan, all of Natchez; six grandchildren, Stratton, Mallory and Taylor Jordan, Kyle, Craig and Jeremy Bradley; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brantley Jordan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Bradley, Kyle Bradley, Craig Bradley, Randy Jordan, Jimmy Goldman and Doug McIlwain.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Edward Gillespie, Bruce Davis, Danny Goldman and members of past Sunday school classes.
