CENTREVILLE — A fire Thursday consumed a pre-civil war plantation home near Centreville, but no injuries occurred in the blaze.
The Centreville Volunteer Fire Department and East Feliciana Parish Fire Department responded to a fire at Forest Hill Plantation at approximately 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
Centreville Fire Chief Chris Boudreaux said the origin of the fire is unknown.
“When we arrived on the scene it was fully involved in flames,” Boudreaux said. “We did what we could to try to contain it until other help arrived.”
The home was a total loss, Boudreaux said.
