ALEXANDRIA, La. — A homegoing celebration for Elsie Mae Freeman, 87, of Alexandria, La., who died March 7, 2015, at the Lexington House of Alexandria, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the G.A. Mangun Center Auditorium in Alexandria with the Rev. Anthony Mangun and the Rev. Tim Mahoney officiating.

Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m., at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.

Mrs. Freeman was born May 11, 1927, in Jackson, the daughter of E.L. and Edwina Mizell.

She was a Pentecostal by faith, homemaker and a member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria.

Elsie was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.D. Freeman; one grandson, Joshua Ragsdale; three brothers, Colvin Mizell, Edward Mizell and Murray Mizell; and stepmother, Inez Joy.

Survivors include three sons, Tommy Freeman and wife, Frankie, of Brookhaven, Dewey Freeman and wife, Kelly, of Sulphur, La., and Timothy Freeman and wife, Amy, of Alexandria; three daughters, Boots Ragsdale and husband, Johnny, of Nashville, Tenn., Barbara Brown and husband, Steve, of Fort Smith, Ark., and Darlene Boyte of Alexandria and Ron, of Oshkosh, Wis.; one brother, Ronnie Mizell of Natchez; one sister, Grace Foster and husband, Ernest, of Natchez; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Freeman, Dewey Freeman, Timothy Freeman, Johnny Ragsdale, Steve Brown and Brandon Freeman.
