NEW ORLEANS — Services for Ruby Lee McCoy Dominique, 77, of New Orleans, who died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at her residence, were Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the St. James Major Catholic Church in New Orleans.
Mrs. Dominique was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Vidalia, the daughter of Travis McCoy Sr. and Bertha McCoy.
She will be remembered fondly for her unconditional love and dedication to her family and friends as well as her superb home cooking.
Mrs. Dominique was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Barbara Johnson, Martha Brown and Ethel “Bae Mae” Brown of Vidalia; one brother, Travis McCoy Jr.; and one nephew, Albert “June” Brown Jr., both of Vidalia.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbert F. Dominique; one daughter, Yvette Dominique Franklin and husband, Mark, of Atlanta; two sons, Wilbur M. Dominique and wife, Kim, of Laplace, La., and Kenneth M. Dominique of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Michel Dominique Palmer and husband, Corey, of New Orleans, Wilbur “M.J.” Dominique Jr. of Laplace, Jasmine Franklin and Kaylah Franklin, both of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Corey and Cailey Palmer, both of New Orleans; two sisters, Willie Mae McCoy and Shirley McCoy Rice and husband, Johnny, both of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and cherished friends.
