NATCHEZ — Services for Edward Ray Green Jr., 87, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 8, 2015, in Houston, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb/Winfield Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Green was born July 14, 1927, in Natchez, the son of Edward Green Sr. and Jessie Long Green.

He was a graduate of Southern University with a bachelor of science degree and furthered his studies at Jackson State University.

He retired from Natchez public schools with 26 years of service.

Mr. Green was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Izola Marie Green; one son, Edward Ray Green III; his parents; two brothers, Fred Green and Vincent Green; and sister, Jessie Edna Green.

Survivors include three daughters, Nelwyn Harrell and Karen Green, both of Houston, and Andrea Thompson of Mount Laurel, N.J.; and one son, Vernon Green.

Pallbearers will be Antwar Harrell, Derius Harrell, Marcus Harrell, Mark Sanders, Vernon Green Jr., and Javon Green.
