Mr. and Mrs. Howard L. Jones III of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn Eliza Jones to Thane Alex Swisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thane A. Swisher of Oklahoma City, Okla.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez and a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She is employed by the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Mullins Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. H. Lee Jones Jr., all of Natchez, and Drs. Robert and Joyce Pickering of Dallas.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Casady School in Oklahoma City and also a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He is employed by On Deck Capital in Washington, D.C.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Wanda Swisher and the late Bill Swisher of Nichols Hills, Okla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Everett of Kenilworth, Ill.

The wedding will be Saturday, May 2, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church in Natchez.

A reception will follow at Dunleith Historic Inn in Natchez.
