Sometime around noon today, the Delta Queen passed through Vicksburg on its way to New Orleans.

A representative with the Delta Queen said the historic steamboat is expected to cruise by Natchez around 6 p.m.

In March, Cornel Martin, president of the Delta Queen Steamboat Co., which purchased the historical vessel in February, said he is “hopeful and confident” Congress will pass an exemption to the Safety at Sea Act of 1966, allowing the Delta Queen to cruise the Mississippi River while carrying passengers.
