Our Lord allowed Marlon a peaceful transition after enduring months of illness.

Mr. Stewart was born Jan. 10, 1978, in Chicago, the son of Johnny B. Proctor and Maxine Stewart Thompson.

As a toddler, he would continue to thrive in Natchez under the care of his maternal grandparents, Henry and Lillian Stewart. He enjoyed the country life but would later return to Phoenix, Ill.

Marlon learned a number of hands-on skills as he began working at an early age as a general laborer. Though he quickly mastered many skills, painting was his passion. He would take his painting artistry to Louisiana and start his own business, Legendary Painting.

Marlon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents, Johnie Proctor and Elizabeth Miles; and one uncle, Herman Stewart.

Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Brandon Thompson and Jermaine Stewart; three sisters, Melody Thompson, Kendra Stewart and Bernadette O’Neil; five uncles, Vondell Hamilton, Raymond Stewart and wife, Johanna, Floyd Proctor, Ernest Proctor and Robert Lee Proctor; three aunts, Shirley Salters, Mae Frances Nesbit and husband, Larry, and Ernestine Proctor-Harris; step-grandmother, Milverta Proctor; and a number of cousins and friends.
