FERRIDAY — Services for David Pety English III, 66, of Southaven, who died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Thornton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. English was born Nov. 24, 1948, in El Dorado, Ark., the son of David Eli English Jr. and Hazel Mae English.

He was a graduate of Newellton High School and was employed by J.T. Shannon Lumber Company from which he retired in April 2014.

Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Hendrix English; his parents; one brother, Travis English; two sisters-in-law, Alene English and Kay English; and one niece, Crystal English.

Survivors include two sons, David English of Hornlake and DeWitt English of Columbus, Ga.; a special son, “Tony” James Crawford; one grandson, Sadler English of Valley, Ala.; one brother, Ricky English of Newellton; three sisters, Carolyn Willard and husband, Harry, of Russellville, Ark., Brenda Grimsley and husband, Clyde, of Mapleton, Utah and Patricia Sadler and husband, Bob, of West Monroe, La.; his “precious” boys, Sully and Nelly; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Ben Darby, David English, Alonzo Petty, Juston Rogers, John Hendrix and Jimmy Hendrix.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Wilson and Buddy Hendrix.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Cancer Research.
