NATCHEZ — Services for Arthur Craig Jackson Sr., 65, who died Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.06:06 CraigJackson obitpic

Burial will follow at the Leesdale Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Visitation will continue at 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 6, 1950, in Natchez, the son of John Henry Jackson and Ruby Lee Woodley Jackson.

He was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and was a member of the “Bucks” basketball team.

Arthur was retired from Nelson Amusement Company. He was also a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher.

Arthur loved to cook, enjoyed watching westerns and sports.

He was preceded in death by his father; an infant daughter, Amber Gordon; and one nephew, Leonard D. Jackson Jr.

Survivors include his mother; three sons, Arthur Craig Jackson Jr. and wife, Michell, Jerry Jackson and wife, Stephanie, all of Madison, and Kraig Jackson of Chesapeake, Va.; one daughter, Joy Gordon; two grandchildren, Ariel C. Jackson and Chasity Hines; five brothers, John H. Jackson Jr. and wife, Ida, Walter Lee Jackson and wife, Della, Leonard D. Jackson and wife, Deborah, Thomas W. Jackson and wife, Stephanie, and Dwayne E. Jackson; three sisters, Helen F. Jackson, Shelia J. Hickingbottom and husband, Tyrone, and Larenza J. Jones and husband, Henry; and other relatives and friends.
