MEADVILLE — Services for Jewell “Betty” Keen Hill, 93, of Meadville, who died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at the Meadville Convalescent Home, will be at 11 a.m. today at Providence Baptist Church in Meadville.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Hill was born May 17, 1922, the daughter of James Usher Keen and Essie Elizabeth Roberts Keen.
She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 58 years.
Mrs. Hill was also a member of Franklin County Extension Service. She received a 20-year service award to Brookhaven Academy and a basketball scholarship from Perkinston Community College and Mississippi College.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.M. Hill Jr.; six brothers, Reginald Keen, Frank Keen, Karl Keen, Dudley Keen, Jake Keen and Hilton Keen; one sister, Dorothy Keen; and one great-granddaughter, Ramsey Kaye Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Barney Dale Hill and wife, Debbie, and Gerald Richard “Rickey” Hill and wife, Debra; one daughter, Elizabeth Jane “Liz” Hill Brown and husband, Winston; 10 grandchildren, Nay Brown Thornhill and husband, Tim, Winky Brown and wife, Tracy, Brenda Brown Orr and husband, Troy, Joey Brown, Blake Brown, Angie Hill Kent and husband, Chris, Mark Hill and wife, Dana, Stan Hill and wife, Allan, Malisa Hill Small and husband, Gary, and Amy Hill Wilson and husband, Mitch; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
