VIDALIA — A man is reportedly missing from the area of the Sidney A. Murray Hydroelectric Station in Concordia Parish.
The Concordia Parish Fire Department received the report at 2:07 p.m. today.
“The only thing I know is that there was an oilfield worker that left the rig, and they haven’t been able to locate him,” said Vernon Stevens, spokesperson for the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
An official with the Concordia Parish Fire District No. 2 said the worker stepped off the rig for what was only supposed to be a moment and has since been missing.
The CPFD, metro ambulance, CPSO and “several helicopters” have been dispatched to the scene.
