Miss-Lou turns in another productive week

Feel the heat yet? The Miss-Lou seems to have a healthy fire lit underneath it, because the community’s productivity and good news seems to keep burning. Let’s take a moment to recall some highlights from last week:

•With football season almost under way, several community members came together Thursday to pay respect to past and current coaches who have claimed their share of state championships. We thank Adams County Christian School for hosting the Night of Champions, and we look forward to what area coaching staffs will accomplish this fall.

•The Natchez Convention and Visitors Bureau announced last week that public relations firm Lou Hammond and Associates would represent Natchez in its tricentennial celebration — the year Natchez recognizes its 300th anniversary. We commend CVB Director Kevin Kirby for diligently promoting Natchez, and keeping our big birthday celebration at the forefront on a national level.

•Melrose Avenue Church of Christ hosted a yard sale last week featuring everything from school uniforms to house wares. What was the best part of the sale? None of the items had price tags. Compassionate community members donated all items. We applaud the church, and those who donated, for doing something selfless and giving back to the Miss-Lou.

As we charge into another busy week, we thank all those who continue to work hard to make the community the best it can be.
