NATCHEZ — While opening shop early Friday morning, a Kaiser’s Mobil Mart employee was allegedly robbed at gunpoint.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said the police received a call at approximately 3 a.m. Friday concerning an alleged robbery at the mart, located on U.S. 61 South.
Ford said an employee was opening the store when the employee returned to their vehicle to turn off their headlights.
“As he was coming back in, a guy ran up behind him and put a gun on him and demanded money,” Ford said.
The employee then took the suspect inside the mart, and took approximately $1,500 from the cash register, Ford said.
“We don’t have any leads right now in this case,” Ford said. “We are still looking into it and interviewing the employees who were there.”
Ford said no shots were fired, and no one was injured in the incident.
Anyone with information about the incident, Ford said, can call Miss-Lou Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
“Right now, we need help from the public,” he said.
Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
