Mrs. Arlene was born Sept. 28, 1935 in Dooley, Mont. to Mr. Andrew Marvin Klakken and Mrs. Nova Beery Klakken.
Mrs. Arlene was a retired U.S. Mail Carrier. She was an outside person that lived her life to touch other people. She was a member of the “American Legion Auxiliary” and loved to attend the “Joy Group” Bible studies, and Bible study at the Toad House in Meadville. She loved to take part in the exercise sessions in Brookhaven with her dear friend, Laura Ann Tyson and afterwards eat lunch at “Poppa’s” restaurant. The highlight of her week was spending time with her friends and every Friday beauty shop day at Doug’s Place. She was always looking out for her neighbors, Mrs. Lucille Priest, Mrs. Mary Katherine Larkin and Mrs. Linda Kent, to be sure they were doing well.
She was a devoted Grandmother that was called “Grandbo” by her grandchildren. She was famous for her sausage, gravy and biscuits breakfast that her grandsons would eat every morning on the way to school. Her granddaughters will cherish the wonderful memories of time spent every Christmas Eve, cooking all the goodies for the family. She loved her family very much and used every minute, every opportunity, every occasion that she could to shape and influence their lives. Her family says that “Grandbo” would always keep-um straight.
Mrs. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, along with her first husband, Billy Cloy, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors are her husband of 27 years, Louie Vernon Jones of Meadville; daughters, Billie Jo Woodcock and husband Vance of Meadville, Kathleen Zumbro and husband Mike of McCall Creek; brothers, Dennis Klakken of Hanna, Wyo., and Wallace Klakken of Gravity, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren along with a number of family and friends.
