NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was arrested Tuesday shortly after he allegedly burglarized a store by pushing in an air-conditioning unit.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Broadmoor Grocery at approximately 6:30 a.m., where an employee showed them a hole in a wall where a mounted air conditioning unit had been located. The hole was assumed to be the point of entry for the burglary.
In addition to the air-conditioning unit, a bank bag of cash and a number of tobacco products were missing, a sheriff’s office spokesman said in a prepared release.
The employee told deputies he had seen someone wearing a blue sleeveless shirt near the store at the time of his arrival, and deputies patrolling the area identified Kadarius Rose, 18, as matching the description.
Rose told deputies where they could find the air-conditioning unit, and deputies later recovered the other missing items, deputies reported.
When investigators reviewed the security tape, they saw a suspect in a white cap in the store. Rose likewise reportedly told investigators where they could find the cap, which he had discarded earlier.
Rose was detained without bond Tuesday evening.
