CENTREVILLE — After embarrassing losses to Oak Forest Academy and Bowling Green School, the Centreville Academy Tigers got back to their winning ways with a 36-12 win over the Central Private School Rebels Friday night in an MAIS District 5-AAA game.

Tyler Caston led the way with 149 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries. Britt Netterville added 93 yards on 13 carries with one touchdown to go with 3-for-6 passing for 42 yards and two touchdown passes.

“I think we played a better game. It was homecoming for us,” Centreville assistant coach Robbie Isonhood said. “We hadn’t played well the last two weeks. Expectations were high.”

Netterville threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Thomasie nearly midway through the first quarter, but the Rebels answered with a 6-yard touchdown pass just over two minutes later to tie the game at 6-6.

Thomasie connected with Stone Reynolds on a 23-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter and Caston’s 2-point conversion run gave the Tigers a 14-12 lead. But Central Private got back in the game on a 15-yard touchdown pass with 6:13 to go in the second quarter and trailed 14-12 after its own 2-point conversion attempt failed.
